We have had quite a busy two weeks. On Saturday the 20th, Jut got a call from the Stake President's executive secretary asking him to bring me and come in for a meeting at 7:45pm. I did not want to imagine what this call might mean, it is never a good thing when they need to talk to the wife with the husband. We had already planned a homemade ice cream (which was wonderful and very chocolaty) and cocoa night with a few friends and since we did not want to cancel, we left our company with our children and ran in for the meeting. Luckily the stake presidency members came out to JC to see us. After asking me if I would support my husband in a new calling and my answer being yes, they asked him to be second counselor in the bishopric. He of course answered yes and from that moment on my next week and a half has been a little crazy. They installed the new bishopric the next morning and I shed a few tears as my husband got up and left me sitting on the bench with our four children. Benson had his all time worse sacrament meeting ever and I think the weight of the whole experience really hit me hard. Jut has been the ward clerk for over two years and so this calling will not involve a totally different level of service but him being set apart as a high priest made me feel really OLD. I know "boo hoo", but with our good friend being called as the new bishop I really felt like we all just grew up over night.
Because Jut had to be set apart as a high priest they gave him the chance to have his dad come perform the ordination. The ordination and setting apart was scheduled for the following Saturday after the adult session of stake conference, when Thane was able to come down from Alaska.
My sister Rachel and her family had already planned a trip to come visit us and they arrived on Tuesday the 23rd. We had a wonderful visit. She is such a great mom. I was watching her with her almost three year old and five month old twins, and I askd her "how do you ever get anything done?" she looked at me, smiled, and said "I don't". Then she started to laugh. She is so wonderful and I am so glad that they took the time to come visit.
On Saturday, Thane flew in and Maurnee came down. We had a full house but it was great. Saturday night we went into Stake conference, which through an unrelated coincidence Jut had to speak at. Jut's Mom and step Dad, Jon, came down for the meeting. Jut did a great job during his talk and the ordination and setting apart were a wonderful experience. We were so grateful to be surrounded by family and friends.
Thane flew out at 5:20am the next morning and Rachel and Travis left to go home as we left for stake conference. Stake conference went as I expect the next few months will go, Benson threw a fit every time either Jut or I brought him in to sit down. After he had eaten all the snakes he waned nothing to do with staying in the meeting, so out in the hall we would go. We don't put him down or let him play, and we do our best to make the hall as little fun as possible, but I know it will be a while before he gives up.
When we got home, we had lunch and I crashed, it had been a long but wonderful week.

Connor and Ava had a great time together. Dancing, dancing, these kids had some great moves.

On Saturday afternoon we all went up into the hills to go shooting. We had a great time, everyone got in on the action.

Thanks for coming "little sister". :)
