fun in the Willamette

Warm Summer days in Harrisburg. Well the girls love going to the river, so we pack up and head to the Willamette on this particular day I forgot to have them take their suits but it was to hot to let them just wade so I let them go all the way in. Now don't worry this is just a little well protected hole and I usually make them wear life jackets. And it really isn't that much but you can tell they get a kick out of it!

Rocks Anyone?

This morning the girls came down all ready to go out and sell rocks. Alexis loves rocks, she has quite a few really neat ones and she loves to look for agates on the beach with her Grandma. But the rocks she decides to sell are not ones that anyone would want to buy. She did decide to sell an unpolished agate but the rest of the rocks are pieces from rocks that she broke open with a hammer. This is the second time she has decided to sell rocks and both times she has been fairly successful. But her customers are always, mom, dad, and our friends that take pity on her. This time she even got Natalie to buy a rock, even though Natalie was also selling rocks. I am not sure how that one works. Oh-well, I guess that is the mind of an eight year old.

Bottle Rocket up the shorts!

Well today is July fourth and Happy Birthday Mom! But today while talking with friends I was reminded of the time when I lived in Ontario... Don was driving I believe an s-10 pickup and Shon and I were in back. I don't know how Shon fell out of the back of the truck but he did. Then while Shon was laying on the grass I thought it would be a good idea to shoot a bottle rocket off his foot. It wasn't. Shon saw it, and freaked out (which is a reasonable reaction) and the bottle rocket fell off his foot and shot up his leg, where he was wearing loose shorts. I only need to say my mom came out of the house saying it sounded like a drunk sailor was out there to understand Shon's reaction. I'm still sorry about that, but it still makes me smile. My friend I was telling the story to said he would have punched me. Shon probably should have...

Well 10/20/2008 is the date, and I was talking to the manager over Labor and Delivery at our new hospital and she said she was going to give us the good suite. So we're looking forward to that. Here's a picture of Char in all her glory.
